Catherine will expand on the conversation around CranioSacral Therapy and the Gut Brain Connection started during the Alchemy Evening in October. She will focus on how stress impacts the Gut Brain connection, offer tools and suggestions for reducing these responses, and generally help us all understand how to live more gently in bodies that were designed to run from saber-tooth tigers instead of sitting in traffic.

Catherine Whelan

Catherine Whelan, BS, LMT, CST is an advanced level CranioSacral Therapist with her techniques level certification who joined Alchemy in 2017. She is Upledger trained and has excellent touch and communication skills.

Twelve years of experience accompany Catherine to Alchemy, she started with a Kinesiology degree, followed that with some of the best training available at Boulder College of Massage, and she has continued her education at the highest levels in CranioSacral Therapy as well as Visceral Manipulation. Catherine is also a frequent teaching assistant and study group leader.

Health is a lifelong journey with an ebb and flow; the more gentle mindfulness we can bring to the journey, the more likely we are to succeed. Catherine understands the challenges and obstacles life can present and wants to help you succeed on your journey of conscious health and wellness.

Our friend Lynayn Mielke from The Well Infused Life and the East West Tea Emporium will be choosing and brewing a special tea that will support and enhance the topic and experience of each Alchemy Evening. If you want to know more about the tea, arrive early and Lynayn will be happy to share the details. She will be available fro 6:45-7:00pm. The evening's program will begin at 7:00pm.

Conscious Breathing, an Introduction

Conscious Breathing is a powerful tool for the body to rebalance and heal itself using the breath. CB brings an embodied awareness of the breath as it naturally occurs during movement and while sitting still. Noticing one’s natural breath in different parts of the body invites an open background for movement reeducation and healing.

Kay Schaefer is a local physical therapist and a friend of Alchemy. Kay has a superb understanding of the relationships between body, mind, and spirit. She brings sensitivity, compassion, and wisdom to of her sessions. We are pleased to introduce you to her workshop Conscious Breathing.
